Employment Resource Centre for Persons with Disabilities (ERCPD) responds to the needs of adults (ages 16 and over) who have a permanent, persistent disability or chronic illness that is a barrier to employment and who require assistance with employment-related issues.
All of the ERCPD vocational counsellors have a university/college degree or an equivalent amount of education and experience, and are members of the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and/or are eligible to receive the designation of Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP).
The ERCPD is an affiliate of the BC Centre for Ability, which provides a wide range of services to persons with disabilities. The BC Centre for Ability’s mission is to provide services that enhance the quality of life for children, youth and adults with disabilities and their families. We believe that everyone, regardless of their special challenges, has the ability to succeed in life and that the community is the best place for individuals, children and families to grow, develop and contribute.
The BC Centre for Ability is a non-profit, charitable organization. The Centre receives funding from the BC Provincial Government, primarily the Ministry of Children and Family Development, the Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance, and from Service Canada. In addition, the Centre conducts year-round fundraising efforts. Private sector contributions represent 16% of the Centre for Ability’s annual budget.
ERCPD is primarily funded by the Ministry of Social Development.
